about
Hi!
I’m glad you dropped by.
I started this blog to formulate and write down thoughts about my main areas of interests; systems thinking, software development and music. For a long time I have had the habit to reflect, look back and write down observations about my path in life; like a diary if you like, with emphasis on the reflection. Of special interest to me was the process of learning. I observed how I learned to play bass and how I could accelerate the learning. I found some good authors and made my own experiences. I noticed that doing reflection and writing it down greatly enhanced the learning process, so I tried to develop that. Some of mine reflections made it to this blog.
My quest for understanding the learning process led me to discover Systems Thinking. As a software developer I was trained in analytical and reductionist thinking, so this shed some new light on quite a number things. I said to myself; “This is the way the world works”. It felt perfectly natural. I continued to dig deeper into this area and found great application of it in my profession as IT consultant, project manager, husband and father and as a citizen of this earth.
I am so naive that I believe that I can make a difference, at least in a small world somewhere. I have come to believe that living is being on a journey. Events and opportunities are unfolding around us and if we are open, we can learn and grow as a person much more than we can imagine – and make a difference somewhere. Reflective thinking is powerful; sometimes I have felt like living in a think tank. My main area of interest right now is on management and collective thinking.
Applying systems thinking is a journey and that is the main theme of this blog. I would love to hear your comments if some of the posts are of interest to you.
