		<description>Hi Biren!
Thanks for taking the time to write about this situation. Yes, I would be glad to discuss system approaches. Do you have any reports, analyses, newspaper articles? Please tell me the links or send them to anders2_at_vesdakon_dot_se.
All the best

<description>i came upon your site as i was googling &#039;ST in conservation&#039;...

i am a recent student of ST, though not new to &#039;systemic view&#039;...

what brought me here was a search.

i live in india, in the state of gujarat, which holds the only population of asiatic lions.
experts feel that this situation should change, and another population should be established in the nearby state of madhyapradesh - the home to major tiger population.

this has escalated into a conflict between the 2 state governments - gujarat resisting giving up lions, and Madhyapradesh alleging that Gujarat is acting like a &#039;dog in the manger&#039;.

obviously none are true.

but the main issue is, the experts that are proponents of the relocation are at loggerheads with the gujarat state&#039;s forest department, which has been doing good conservation work.

the forest department feels that the plan is ill conceived, and they see that lions won&#039;t survive in madhyapradesh.

i got interested as a concerned world citizen.
in my opinion, the studies for relocation is intensive, but analytical - all components of the issue have been studied in isolation.
in other words, i feel a &#039;wholistic&#039; view has not been taken. the problem has not been thoroughly seen as a &#039;systemic intervention&#039;.
for e.g., a systemic perspective would immediately bring out a possible solution of creating &#039;corridors&#039; - forests that connect the 2 areas - which would allow the lions to move on their own, IF it is really what the ecosytem needs.

my quandry is, how can i help (both sides) in realisation that a systemic approach, and ST could bring about a sustainable solution?

i thought i could pick your brains and your experience.
i assumed you wouldn&#039;t mind.

i hope you can help.

warm regards
