Blog up and running
July 18, 2007 | 7:47 pmAt last my blog is up and running again, this time living in a web hotel. I have always recycled my old computers during the years and reused them as web-server and firewall. Typically an apache-server based on Linux or BSD doesn’t crave that much hardware, but I have had stability problems for a while and now was the time for the hardware to be renamed to junk.
FSData Web Hotel in Sweden became my choice after testing several different hotels for some time. FSData has excellent support and a platform that gives me many options. I can even run Ruby On Rails if I wanted. Their email solution is based on Microsoft Exchange.
I also took the time to search for a better looking theme for my Wordpress blog. I must say that I really appreciate Wordpress as a blogging tool. Since it is used by so many and since its community is so active, it is stable and has a lot of plugins and themes. Testing different themes and changing some of the php-pages was very easy.
