Reusing old hard discs as USB external drives
July 25, 2007 | 11:17 amI have a bunch of hard discs from old computers laying around. Are there possibilities of reuse? Yes. Sometimes I need a couple of gigabyte temporary storage. I have found an interesting kit that enables me to reuse the hard disc’s as USB drives. The thing is called UDrive from ACRyan and it is very cheap. It is a USB2 to IDE/SATA external converter that lets you connect your IDE-drive to USB 2.0 on your computer. It also has power supply for the IDE. It does not have cabinet for the IDE, so it is only for temporal solutions. It is quite possible to make my own cabinet if I wanted.
